Female Betta (Betta splendens)
Female Bettas are an enchanting yet often overlooked choice for freshwater aquariums. While they may have shorter fins than their male counterparts, female Bettas display a stunning array of colors and are known for their spunky, curious nature. Female Bettas are perfect for aquarists seeking the beauty of a Betta with a slightly more social temperament, as they can be kept in groups (called sororities) of 5 or more, provided the tank is large enough (20 gallons or more) and has plenty of hiding places to reduce territorial aggression.
Female Bettas thrive in a planted tank with calm water flow and hiding spots like caves and plants. While they are more peaceful than males, it's important to carefully choose tank mates, avoiding aggressive or fin-nipping species. Here are the ideal water parameters for keeping a healthy, happy Female Betta:
Temperature: 75-80°F (24-27°C)
pH: 6.5-7.5
Hardness: 3-5 dGH

🪱 The bettas were raised on a variety of foods ranging from live whiteworms, frozen blood worms, pellets, and flakes.
 
🍂 They also always had a couple of Catappa Leaves in their tank to reduce Ph, and increase the presence of tannins to make them feel right at home. Because of this, each order will come with a few complimentary leaves to help acclimate your new bettas!
