Care Recommendations:
Tank Size: Minimum 40 gallons, ideally larger if you’re keeping a group.
Water Conditions: Soft, slightly acidic water (pH around 6.0–7.0), warm temperature (82–86°F).
Tank Setup: They do best in a calm, low-flow setup — a planted tank is highly recommended, both for aesthetics and for helping maintain stable water parameters.
Social Needs: Discus are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least 4–6 to feel secure and develop natural social behaviors.
Tankmates: Peaceful, non-aggressive species that can tolerate warm water. Avoid fin-nippers or overly active fish.
